Understanding the Process
Knowledge of relevant legislation is key to our role in working with and advising clients
throughout the development process from initial site selections through to post-consent
licence condition compliance.
We have a detailed working knowledge of the UK Planning Act in England and Wales developed through our role in taking two of the first three UK offshore wind farm projects (Triton Knoll and Galloper) through the application and examination process, currently unique experience amongst the offshore planning and environmental consultancy field.
We also offer expert knowledge and experience of (amongst others!):
- The regulatory frameworks in the devolved administrations
- Marine Licensing
- The Energy Act
- Habitats Directive
- Conservation Regulations (Northern Ireland)
- EIA Directive
- Water Framework Directive
- Bathing waters Directive
- Electricity Works Act
Drawing on our experience, we pride ourselves in being able to offer capabilities
in assessing development risk associated with the EIA and consenting processes,
providing site specific and strategic advice to marine developers with regard
to key pieces of legislation in the marine environment and their possible
implications for the development process.
Through our project management and auditing roles on a range of projects, we provide services to major clients in advising and assisting in the project development and regulatory compliance process.
